“We were supposed to try to get the ball and foul them before they shot the three,” he said. “That was our encounter plan. That was a coach in a timeout saying, ‘I don’t want them to sprout a three. I want you to get after the ball before they shoot it so that they have to make two (free throws), then they have to get the ball back and they have to name another basket — three good things in five seconds rather than one.
