How can people be so passionate about an issue without knowing basic facts?

I am always amazed by the passion people have expressed their point of view and yet the ignorance that goes with it. It seems that people know only what the media tells them without checking the facts. They get all worked for nothing.
Sounds like some boring music, if it leads to a political debate.
But anyway, it seems that people like the women you are talking about are just lazy. They have no desire to do research, or even just read the newspaper to learn about what is happening in the world.
