1. Sandusky scandal

Former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, once expected to be the inheritor to longtime coach Joe Paterno, was accused of molesting eight boys and arrested Nov. 5 after being arraigned on 40 illegal counts, according to the office of Attorney General Linda Kelly.

The allegations against Sandusky, 67, contained in a 23-page lavish jury report, ranged from sexual touching to oral and anal sex, and the under age men testified they were in their early teens when some of the abuse occurred. There is evidence even younger children might have been victimized.

Sandusky was charged with multiple counts of instinctive deviate sexual intercourse, corruption of minors, endangering the profit of a child, indecent assault and unlawful contact with a minor, as well as cull counts of aggravated indecent assault and attempted indecent hold-up.
